What I do want to state is that Connie sold out to capacity audiences. Here's a little review:
Despite the fact that Connie was completely dehydrated and fighting a serious throat and ear infection, Connie wowed the Resorts International audience as she stepped out into the over-capacity crowd at 10:15 P.M. Each show was oversold by 250 people and there were still people clamoring at the box office. Connie went through the show, nevertheless, and even though she personally was not pleased with her vocals on Friday night, April 5, the audience gave her several standing ovations. Resting up a little and a visit to the the doctor's office on Saturday, April 6, resulted in an almost recovery and a more personally triumphant concert on the crammed second night. Connie attended a cocktail party given in her honor and received several guests which included fans from all over the United States, England, Holland and Germany. Her third night Connie outdid herself on numbers such as "You Don't Have To Say You Love Me" and "Brother, Can You Spare A Dime?" In addition to these her repertoire on the other nights included: LET ME TRY AGAIN, O LONESOME ME, ARE YOU LONESOME TONIGHT?, HITS MEDLEY, COMME BELLA A STAGIONE, SCAPRICCIATIELLO, MAMA, OLD TIME ROCK'N ROLL, SINATRA IS THE CHAMP, IF I NEVER SING ANOTHER SONG, OVER THERE and GOD BLESS AMERICA. For many of these, she received standing ovations. Tirelessly, she signed autographs for at least 90 minutes afterward. The buzz in the casino was that she brought all the excitement back to the hotel. For those of you who missed this concert, it was well worth the travel for many.
During this engagement, Connie was invited to place her handprints on cement which will be a forever momento of her many visits to the Atlantic City area, an honor not bestowed on every performer in AC. The ceremony was attended by a group of friends and fans.
