Wine Storage

White wines have a short shelf-life. Reds are much better but need to stay in a dark and relatively cool location (avoid temperature cycles).

Place wine bottles on side with top tilted slightly downward. This keeps cork moist and avoids drying and letting air into the wine bottle. However, this assumes bottle has been successfully corked tightly.
